Our insolvency helpline allows free access to anyone seeking expert insolvency advice.
The service is conducted on a confidential discreet basis.
When difficulties arise, people often don’t have immediate access to an appropriate professional, and the problem may not be sufficiently significant at first glance to merit the formal route of instructing a professional.
Says Jim Stafford, head of corporate recovery and insolvency "Many questions coming through the Helpline are often dealt with easily at no cost. Insolvency is our specialty, and we have most of the answers at our fingertips".
People who use the Helpline are either in business and facing commercial problems themselves – their own or those of customers and suppliers – or they are professionals assisting clients on insolvency issues, perhaps lawyers or accountants who do not have the necessary expertise themselves.
Where it becomes clear that enquiries will need more research or meetings for example, then we would obviously put the matter on a formal instruction basis and agree a fee as appropriate . Jim Stafford says, however, that most of the enquires received to date through the Helpline have been dealt with quickly and for no charge.
As part of our Helpline service we provide free estimates/quotations for carrying out work.
